With her outspoken nature, she stood by the desire to be a music artist and chased her goals. It wasn't easy initially and encountered a myriad of obstacles before receiving her first big break. When she first signed with 'Capitol Records', several of her tracks were discarded. Her next studio album "One of the Boys" was a huge success and was a pivotal turn in the career of the musician. She had become an accomplished singer and she hasn't looked back since. The next album, 'Teenage Dreams', was received a huge response from music fans and one of the best-selling albums of all time. It created many records and cemented Katy Perry's place as an established artist. Alongside writing and recording songs, Perry is also known as a philanthropist. Perry is a gay rights activist.
